Founded in 1997, by Diane E. Mason, HR Proactive Inc. was built on a simple but powerful idea: workplaces function better when issues are prevented, not just resolved.
In the mid-1990s, many workplaces addressed conflict, harassment, and discrimination only after harm had occurred. Investigations were conducted and policies were written, yet organizational cultures often remained unchanged. Through her work as a Human Rights Mediator and Investigator with theĀ Ontario Human Rights Commission, Diane saw firsthand how unresolved workplace issues affected individuals, productivity, and trust. She also recognized the emerging potential of the internet-not simply as a communication tool, but as a powerful platform for education and early intervention.
That insight shaped our mission: to help organizations prevent workplace issues before they arise by delivering practical, accessible, and meaningful education.
For nearly three decades, we have combined extensive experience gained from thousands of workplace investigations and organizational audits with evolving technology to transform how organizations approach human resources, compliance, and culture. From our early work producing training DVDs to developing dynamic digital learning, customized Learning Management Systems, and SCORM-ready courses that integrate seamlessly with client LMS and HRIS platforms, our focus has remained consistent.
We believe training should do more than inform. It should influence behaviour, strengthen leadership, and build accountability at every level of an organization.
Our hybrid method blends plain-language explanations of legislation with a strong focus on building a culture of civility. By immersing learners in realistic workplace scenarios, the training helps employees understand the impact of their choices and demonstrates how everyday interactions contribute to a safe, healthy, and productive workplace.
